“I can definitely do it.”  Jake said proudly.  His friends reacted with a mixture of shock and disbelief.
“No you can’t.”  Peter replied.  “No one can.  It’s impossible.”
“No it isn’t, ‘cause I did.”
“No, I’m pretty sure it’s impossible.”  Linus said.  I read it online. The guy who made the game said it was designed to be pretty much impossible to beat.  It’s some kind of statement about something.  I forgot what though.”
“That doesn’t mean it’s completely impossible.”  Jake said.  “It just means it’s really, really hard.  I can say for certain that I beat it.”
“Yeah, sure you can.”  Peter said, rolling his eyes.
Both he and Linus knew Jake loved to brag about his supposed gaming prowess, but when asked to prove his claims, always had some excuse why he couldn’t.  Neither of them had any doubt that was the case with such an infamously difficult game.
“Yup, sure can.”  Jake said.  Whether he detected Peter’s sarcasm or simply chose to take it as an honest statement, neither of the other two could tell.  “That game is only impossible for noobs like you two.  For a real gamer like me, it’s no problem at all.”
“So does that mean you’re better than the hundreds of pro gamers that couldn’t beat it?”  Linus asked.
“Seems like it, huh?”
“Well, in that case, all hail the god of gamers.  The high school student who can out play the pros.”  Peter said with mock fanfare.
“Thank you, thank you.”  Jake said.  He bowed his head and held his hand out in front of him, waving it in little circles.  It was now certain to the other two that he recognized Peter’s sarcasm, he just chose not to interpret it as such.  Either that, or he was just playing along.
“Well, great sir, would you be so kind as to show us mere mortals your greatness?”  Linus asked.
“How?”
“We go over to your place after school today and you show us your completed save file, or maybe even show us how you beat it at all.”
A sudden flash of nervousness appeared on Jake’s face, but didn’t last long.  That was all his friends needed to see.
“Oh yeah, that’s a great idea.”  Peter said.  “I mean, if you beat it once, you must have saved the game.  And even if you didn’t, you should be able to do it again, right?”
“Oh, sure, yeah, no problem.  I’ll beat it as many times as you want.  But not tonight.  My parents have a thing tonight.  I guess so people they know are coming over or something.”
“Oh, that’s too bad.”  Peter said with a smile on his face.  “Well then a  different day then.”
“Sure, but by then I might be out of practice too much to really get in to it.  You know how it is, right?”
“Sure.”  Linus said.  “In that case you must have recorded your game winning play through, right?  I mean, I know you’ve got the programs and stuff, so that’s not a problem.  And once you knew you were going to win, you must have recorded it, right?”
“Oh, uh, yeah, yeah, of course I did.  Yeah, I’d have to be an idiot not to, right?”
“So then can we see the video?”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.  My gaming powers are so great that just watching the video of my playing might cause problems for you two.”
“Problems?  Like what?”  Linus asked.  He was having a hard time stifling his laughter, and from the look on Peter’s face, he was having just as much trouble.
“Well, like, you might get so jealous of my mad skills that you can never bring yourself to play another video game again.”
“Wow.  Now that’s a good one.”  Peter said.  “I don’t think you used that one since…what was it, two weeks ago?”
                “Three.”  Linus said.
“Oh shut it.”  Jake said irritably.  “I beat the game and that’s all there is to it.  Believe it or not, it doesn’t matter.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.”  Peter said, rolling his eyes.  “So you’re really not going to show us how you beat the one game that was designed not to be beaten?”
“I don’t see why I need to.”  Jake said, crossing his arms as he spoke.
“Of course not.”  Linus said.  “Well, if you ever feel the need to show off your “mad skills”, we’ll be eager to see it.”
Neither Linus nor Peter could contain their laughter any longer.  Jake just grumbled, unable to say anything between the noise his friends were making.

There are actually games that are designed not to be won.  Some just don't have no actually ending.  Some are just made to be impossibly hard.  Just look up the World's Hardest Game and prepare for frustration.  Although, technically that one is possible to win, it's just...yeah...
